It's Ok To Be Selfish

I think we all can relate to going through our day to day routine and before we know it a couple weeks have gone by and we haven't had a chance for a break... or for "me time". I believe that this is the time in our lives where we NEED TO BE SELFISH. Time time for yourself and you only, nothing else.

Tip #1: One day out of the week have a day completely for you. Sleep in, make some coffee, journal about your goals and what you what you would like to accomplish. Writing down what you need to get done and where you hope to be in work, school, even with life can help you reach your goals faster.

Tip #2: HAVE ALL THE GIRLS NIGHTS. Never say no to a girls night. I understand that homework and work get in the way, but make your best effort to always have a girls night. Pop open the Rosé eat all the cheese off the cheese board, and throw on a face mask. Girls nights is the most relaxing way to unwind and really focus on yourself, by having fun, talking about life, and laughing with your girls.
Tip #3: Plan something for yourself to look forward too. Buy tickets to a concert, plan the weekend trip out, even just a date night or drinks with the girls. Have something planned every week that you can look forward too. Having something planned in the future allows me to keep pushing through my week and keep working hard to accomplish my goals.

Story time... last weekend I went back to Flagstaff (I went to NAU my freshman year of college). Last minute spontaneous trip back to flag to visit some of my best friends for Tequila Sunrise. THIS WAS THE BEST THING I COULD HAVE DONE! Taking a road trip out after a few stressful weeks of school and work and getting to see @Tessa and @Chelsea again really made the whole trip worth it. Getting to catch up with some friends that weekend really opened me up to the type of friends I want in my life and helped me discover some things I would really like to continue to do in the future to better myself.

Ok back on track
BE SELFISH...take that day off of work, spend the money on the plane ticket, sleep in, drink the wine, and eat the pasta and cookies. Don't be so hard on yourself, look at all the positive aspects in your life and make the most out of them. Schedule time for you because your the most important person in your life. XOXO Ken.
